If you know of a place to practice that is quiet then please post it here with brief description of whats there.

Also post places you have visited but are questionable in their appropriateness.

Holton Heath

Very quiet roundabout on an industrial estate. The roundabout goes nowhere so is rarely used. The tarmac is ok but has a few bumps.

There is a long stretch of road up to the roundabout however that has three rumble strips every 50ft or so.

Overall this is a great spot to practice roundabout manoeuvres.

Nice find thescotsman  ;)

Hillyfields

This bend is great for practicing cornering, especially if you are on L plates. You can practice cornering at 30mph+ so you have enough speed to complete the swerve test.

You will need someone with you to stand on the corner watching out for trucks. There are a lot of trucks there. We visited this place at around 6pm on a weekday. Sunday would be the best day to visit.

Beaulieu Airfeild - Disused

This is an absolutely perfect area to practice,  however there are loads of Section 34 of the Road Traffic Act notices around. Also you'll have to be happy doing some off road on your bike as there is a gravel track to get to it. I took the firestorm last night and that was fun offroading.

There are skid marks all over the tarmac so I guess cars go down there often. There are many horses around (not on the tarmac) but they just wanted to watch, I'm sure!! lol

We stood around for about 20 mins thinking "Shall we" We thought not. So having used the tarmac to turn around, we headed out for an evening ride instead. I don't know what happened but three times the front wheel went up in the air. I don't think I had hold of the twisty thingy that makes it go properly?

Those of you who are not so concerned about having their bike seized, this is an idea play area.

M3 Junction 12

Here we have a couple of nice roundabouts to practice on. It is a motorway junction so picking your time to visit is essential. Late evening or early morning at weekends is probably best. The roundabout on the left is a bit bumpy through the middle of the lane but you can easily avoid them.

A3 Northbound from Portsmouth - Midhurst/Sheet

This is a great slip road which you can get off the A3. Head down the A272 a little onto a roundabout and back up to the A3. This has a sweeping corner and on the way back onto the A3, a bend that tightens.

You can only do this once so it’s best to incorporate it in your ride.
